Marubeni Europower

SmartestEnergy works closely with its sister company, Marubeni Europower Limited (MEL), which is also based in London.

MEL develops and operates Independent Power Producer (IPP) Projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Its expertise ranges from  developing new generation and transmission assets through to operation and maintenance activities.

Since the company was launched in 1992, it has been involved in a significant number of high profile projects including the 688MW gas-fired Medway Power Station in the UK, the SEC wind farm development in Galicia, Spain and a power and water plant for the Rabigh refinery in Saudi Arabia.
