project TransmiT

Project TransmiT is Ofgem’s independent review of the charging arrangements for gas and electricity transmission networks. The project is being delivered in a number of phases with the first looking to collect evidence and determine whether all or part of the transmission charging regime should be modified. It will also aim to identify what changes can be made to facilitate the timely connection of new generation including low carbon projects.

In addition to seeking views from across the industry, Project TransmiT will also draw on the expertise of an independent advisory panel and a number of reports prepared by experienced academic commentators.

company position statement

We support the objectives of the Significant Code Review under Project TransmiT and the specific focus on connections and charging methodology.

We believe that the current embedded arrangements should be maintained to encourage as much distributed generation as possible. The review should also be concluded as swiftly as possible to avoid unnecessary costs and uncertainty for consumers and investors.
