The Energy Management Centre in our London Head Office monitors our largest customers' generation plant in real time and uses sophisticated risk management systems, developed largely in-house, to ensure that our FlexiTrade customers minimise their imbalance exposure at all times.

Relationships with Data Collectors and other data information providers have also been established to enable the team to view the actual output in close to real time from a generating plant or the consumption of a large consumer anywhere in the UK.

This allows the EMC to respond immediately to any change in the contract position and assists in optimising the generator's return or controlling the consumer's costs.

The team communicates with a range of market players, pro-actively seeking out opportunities to protect and enhance value for its customers. Typically this is achieved by offering generation plant into the balancing markets or to the 'within day' power markets, known as power exchanges.
