EMR could hit energy market competition, minister warned

Independent energy firm SmartestEnergy has warned that extra burdens placed on suppliers under EMR could hit smaller players hardest.

One of the UK’s largest farm-based wind power projects is about to be switched on, generating returns for more than 20 local shareholders who have invested in the scheme.

SmartestEnergy wins Energy Supplier of the Year

SmartestEnergy has been named as Energy Supplier of the Year in this year’s Energy Awards, beating off competition from many of the biggest names in the industry.

The award was announced at a gala dinner attended by more than 500 leading figures at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Villagers reap benefits from Turbine
