The deadline for submissions of evidence to the system operator’s connections portal will be extended after technical issues.
Energy generation and demand projects with an existing connections agreement have been invited to submit evidence to showcase their readiness and strategic alignment with the UK’s energy goals.
However, in an open letter to industry from Chief Operating Officer Kayte O’Neill she said NESO understands the challenges being experienced with the portal and that “we are truly sorry for the concern and disruption this is causing”.
The submission window will be extended by at least five working days beyond the original deadline day of 29 July.
“While an increasing number of projects have successfully completed the evidence submission process, we know that in other cases outstanding queries and portal issues are continuing to impact your ability to submit evidence.”
O’Neill urged companies to continue to log in and submit evidence and not to wait until closer to the deadline.
