Government ministers and Ofgem have urged the system operator and network companies to ensure rapid progress on the reformed grid connection process to keep the Clean Power 2030 mission on track.
In a joint open letter, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and Ofgem said the next stage of the Connections Reform programme is also “pivotal” for ensuring investor confidence in the UK’s energy transition.
It emphasises the need for “ambitious and high-quality connection offers, timely delivery, and collaboration across network companies and NESO”.
“All parties - both individual network companies and NESO - have a critical role in driving this required ambition,” it said.
