Global renewable capacity is expected to more than double by 2030, according to new forecasts.
The International Energy Agency said growth was being led by the rapid rise of solar PV, and despite a challenging backdrop of supply chain strains, grid integration challenges, financial pressures and policy shifts.
As well as solar, geothermal installations are on course to hit historic highs in many markets and rising grid integration challenges are renewing interest in pumped-storage hydropower.
Confidence among developers also remains strong with most either maintaining or raising their 2030 deployment targets compared with last year.
