During the coronavirus pandemic, we have all witnessed the strain it has put on our community and frontline healthcare workers. Looking into local charities to support at this time, we were blown away by the efforts of our local Ronald McDonald House Charities, which continue to assist their long-term families, while also opening their doors and offering a safe space for local frontline healthcare workers.
Beth Trunfio, Executive Director, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York, explained why they are opening their doors to frontline healthcare workers, saying, “While we believe that temporarily closing our House was the most responsible way to help protect our guest families, it has now presented us with a unique opportunity to contribute to the local fight against COVID-19…local front-line health care professionals are working long hours during these uncertain times and we are proud to be able to provide them with a place of respite. It is our profound privilege to be working together through this crisis and beyond.”
In order to say thank you and support their amazing efforts, SmartestEnergy has donated $10,000 to their cause and continues to follow their inspiring work from afar.
