SmartestEnergy has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People Gold standard, becoming one of only 7% of firms in the UK involved in the scheme to achieve the level.
The award of the Gold standard followed a rigorous assessment process including interviews with staff.
Paul Devoy, head of Investors in People, said: “Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, and demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows an organisation committed to being the very best it can be.
“SmartestEnergy should be extremely proud of their achievement.”
Investors in People is the UK's leading accreditation for business improvement through people management, and provides a wealth of resources for businesses to innovate, improve and grow, with a focus on good people making great businesses.
SmartestEnergy’s Chief Executive Officer Robert Groves commented on the award:
“Our staff are the assets of our business that deliver the market-leading customer service and innovation that underpins the continued success of SmartestEnergy. We are therefore committed to ensuring we provide the best possible environment to attract, retain and develop a talented workforce.
“Investors in People Gold set us very challenging standards and I’m delighted for everyone who works here that our efforts and achievements have been recognised.”
Investors in People Practitioner Tim Little, who carried out SmartestEnergy’s assessment, said the staff he had spoken to as part of the process “were open, interested and contributed really well”.
“SmartestEnergy fully embraces the principles and requirements of the Investors in People. That is why we are so pleased to have been working with the company and the outcome achieved,” he said.
