Energy sector rebalancing in real time

The energy sector is undergoing a huge rebalancing as surging electricity demand is colliding with global instability and grid constraints.

The World Energy Council said energy security, affordability, decarbonisation, and industrial competitiveness were all important factors as countries look to integrate more generation.

Grids, storage and system integration were highlighted as the most common constraints on progress.

Dr Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General & CEO of the World Energy Council, said: “World energy is being rebalanced in real time. Integration and interoperability are now critical: connecting the parts of each system and enabling different systems and pathways to work together.”
