The government has issued a call for evidence setting out its views on how artificial intelligence could transform the energy system.
It asks stakeholders for evidence on opportunities, risks, barriers to adoption, and longer-term system impacts, to inform policy development and the ‘UK AI for Clean Energy Strategy’.
It is aimed at industry, academia, system operators, regulators and other energy stakeholders.
Martin McCluskey, Minister for Local Energy and Jobs, said “We're looking to understand where AI can make the greatest difference, the barriers that are preventing progress, and where government action is needed.
“It is the start of a conversation between government, the public, industry and the wider energy sector, and the potential rewards are great.”
