Government updates on AR8 timeline
The UK’s Allocation Round 8 Contracts for Difference auction will now run to the latest of the five timelines initially set out.
The UK’s Allocation Round 8 Contracts for Difference auction will now run to the latest of the five timelines initially set out.
The Government said its decision not to run the round to an “expedited timeline” was down to a number of considerations including its focus on maximising competition and ensuring value for money for consumers.
It said the longer timeline will also provide parties with “sufficient time to prepare bids”.
“AR8 will be focussed on value to consumers, while also delivering on our clean power commitments,” the Government said.
A notice is due to be published by NESO on 19 November to confirm the timings of the sealed bid window for the auction.
The window could run from 3-9 December ahead of results being announced in mid-February.
