Key milestone reached in half hourly metering programme

The first two suppliers have now completed the migration of Meter Point Administration Numbers (MPANs) to the market-wide half hourly settlement arrangements.

Elexon said the milestone in the programme was a “massive achievement” and that momentum was now building across the industry.

“All suppliers who are actively migrating are making excellent progress, with several already 90% complete, and even more on track to have completed migration of their active portfolios by the end of October 2026,” it said in an update.

“Over the coming months we will see a surge in the number of suppliers beginning their migration, which moves us steadily towards a smarter, more flexible and lower-carbon electricity system.”
