The head of the UK’s Mission for Clean Power is stepping down after just over two years in the role.
Chris Stark said he was proud of what has been achieved over the past two years in bringing together developers, government, NESO and Ofgem “behind a clear goal that has put the country’s energy system back on the right path”.
“We’ve secured enough new clean power to meet the needs of over 20 million homes, delivered record-breaking renewables auctions and removed barriers that have held Britain back for years, from the onshore wind ban in England to the grid connections queue,” he said.
“It has been a unique privilege to help lead this work, and I leave it in the hands of a great team who will continue to drive it forward.”
Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh said Stark had left strong foundations for the Government’s drive to cheaper, clean power.
