Ofgem has launched two consultations aimed at improving connections to electricity networks.
The regulator said its Transforming the Connections Experience proposals would introduce tighter service standards and greater accountability for network companies.
A separate consultation on its Transforming Connections Data proposals looks to improve the availability and quality of network data to help customers make better-informed decisions before applying for a connection.
The data proposals would require network companies to publish more of the connections data they already hold, improve accuracy and quality, update it more regularly and make information more accessible.
Ofgem director for Energy System Design Eleanor Warburton, said: “Together, these reforms are designed to create a more transparent, efficient and customer-focused connections system that works better for developers, networks and ultimately consumers.”
