The Regulation on Wholesale Energy Markets Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) is an EU regulation (regulation (EU) No 1227/2011)1 that came into force on 28 December 2011 and is aimed at preventing market abuse in the wholesale energy markets. It established a new framework for the monitoring of wholesale energy markets. A key requirement of this framework is for market participants to publish inside information.
For Inside Information, REMIT states that Market Participants shall publicly disclose in an effective and timely manner inside information they possess in respect of business or facilities which they, their parent or related undertaking own, control or operate. Inside Information is:
- Not generally available
- Relates directly or indirectly to one or more listed entities
- Would, if generally available, be likely to have a significant effect of the price of investments
SmartestEnergy currently has no Inside Information to publish.
If you have any questions about REMIT, please contact your Account Manager or send an enquiry here.
