With accurate billing and automated readings, smart meters are a great way to save your business time and money. Plus, they can also help you better understand your energy consumption and give the industry more data to efficiently manage supply and demand at national level.

We believe smart meters have a positive impact on the future of the energy industry and wider climate change agenda. Through our approach we are helping the UK business community move towards a cleaner, greener, lower-carbon economy.

Smart meter benefits

> Accurate Billing
Your smart meter will enable us to gain an accurate understanding of how you consume your electricity. By sending us regular readings, we will ensure your monthly Budget Plan payment (fixed Direct Debit) remains in line with your actual usage.

> Automated Readings
Readings are sent automatically so you don’t have to worry every month. This can actually save you a fair bit of time and of course hassle. We take the confidentiality of your usage data seriously and our new generation of smart meters will transfer the data via a secure connection over the Smart DCC network.

> Reduce Energy Consumption
Accurate billing is one thing, but the ability to see how and when you use your energy is where it really counts. Used in conjunction with our Web Analyser service, your smart meter will provide you with a detailed breakdown of your electricity consumption.

This valuable tool can be useful when identifying ways to reduce your energy usage and carbon footprint.

By installing a smart meter you're helping to move the UK towards a lower-carbon economy. The current energy system simply can’t map the demands of businesses and homes accurately, so in effect a lot of energy still goes to waste. Through the use of smart meters the grid can function as a smarter energy system because it will know precisely where to direct valuable resources and therefore help to reduce waste.

Annual Installation Targets

From 2022, all gas and electricity suppliers have annual installation targets to roll out smart and advanced meters to their customers by the end of 2025. SmartestEnergy Limited’s annual targets are published below.

Your experience is very important to us and we will keep you fully informed throughout the smart meter installation process.
